Introduction

Hello, and welcome!

This is going to be a chronicle of my attempt at a Sims2 Apocalypse Challenge. If you're not familiar with TheSims2, it's proably not going to tell you very much. If you're not familiar with the Apocalypse Challenge, go here and here to see the rules. It's a doozy. I think you have to be just a little bit insane to try it... Which means it should suit me just fine.

For the record, I play with the base game, and the University, Nightlife, Open for Business and Seasons expansions. No stuff packs, no Pets, and no Bon Voyage yet. Not having to deal with the Pets rules makes things a little easier on me, and if I get BV before finishing this challenge - which seems likely - I'll simply not use any of its features with my apocalypse family.

Now, I am in awe of Pinstar for coming up with the challenge in the first place, for making all the restrictions fit together, and for developing the "flavor text." But. Yes, there's a but. Not being North American - I'm Swedish - the whole Super Bowl thing does nothing for me. I thought about making it some other kind of big event, like maybe the football (soccer) World Championships, or even the Eurovision Song Contest...

Then it hit me. We here in Northern Europe have our very own apocalyptic mythos, so why not use it? And that, my friends, is how I ended up with the Ragnarök Apocalypse; but I'll be my usual kind, thoughful self - stop looking at me like that - and refer to it as Ragnarok, for you English speakers (and any other nationalities who may stop by).
